GLOSSARY
180-------Is when the skateboarder turns the skateboard quickly 180 degrees while in the
air, so that when lands the nose is where the tail was.
360-------Is when the skateboarder and the skateboard turns 360 degrees while in the air
so that when lands is still facing their original direction.
5-0-------When skateboarder grinds with only the back truck, the nose of the skateboard is up
in the air a little.
NOLLIE--Is where the skateboarder uses the nose of the skateboard to slap against the
ground and pop the skateboard up into the air.
OLLIE----Where the skateboarder pops the skateboard into the air, the skateboarder jumping
with the skateboard stuck to his feet.
REGULAR--Riding the skateboard with the left foot in front toward the nose of the board.
NOSEGRIND--Trick performed by grinding with only the front skateboard truck.
PRIMO---Most skaters call popping up and standing on the skateboard edge.
TOE EDGE--Refers to the edge of a skateboard in front of the riders toes.
GOOFY--Skateboarders riding with the left foot in back, toward the tail of the board.
GRABS--Any time a board rider reaches down and grab the board.
GRIND--Sliding along an edge, such as curb, bench, rail etc. Using the skateboard trucks
instead the wheels.
HEEL FLIP--Technical flip trick where the skater ollies and kicks the skateboard to make it
flip underneath him.
INDY--Describes a specific type of grab, where the skater reaches his back hand down and
grabs the toe side of the skateboard between the rider feet, this is the most common
type of grab in skateboarding.
KICKFLIP--Similar to Ollie, but the skater flick the board with the foot to make it spin
underneath while in the air.
CARVING--While riding, the skater leans and cuts into turns.
FRONTSIDE--Refer to rotations or turns done so that the skate boarder's front is facing
the outside of the turn arc.
FAKIE--Riding the skateboard backwards from the way you would ride it.
